In Belize, a Registered Agent (RA) is an individual who is registered with the Financial Services Commission (FSC) to perform the services of a registered agent in Belize.

A RA is a designated individual or entity appointed by a company, partnership, or business owner to act as its official representative for legal and administrative matters. The registered agent must have a physical address within Belize and is responsible for receiving important legal documents and correspondence on behalf of the business, such as service of process, notices, and official communications from government agencies.

The registered agent ensures that the company remains in compliance with local regulations and promptly forwards relevant documents to the appropriate parties, facilitating effective communication and legal accountability for the business entity.

All businesses that are majority-owned by foreigners must utilize the services of a RA.
